In the Teal Mask DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there are many tasks to complete after finishing the main storyline. One of these tasks can provide you with a significant amount of rare Herba Mystica, a valuable item used to prepare special sandwiches that increase your chances of finding Shiny Pokemon.
Before the DLC was released, players could only obtain Herba Mystica through five-star raids or higher, making it a rare reward. However, now there is an easy way to get ten free Herba Mystica after completing the storyline.
To start this task, you must talk to one of the picnickers in front of Kitakami Hall. Look for a specific picnicker saying, “I make chairs…”. This NPC will ask for seemingly useless items, picnic tablecloths. Collect all 19 tablecloths and bring them back to the picnicker. In return, you will receive a set of matching chairs and ten Herba Mystica.
Picnic tablecloths can be purchased at Picnic-Knacks stores located in the Paldea region. To acquire all the tablecloths, you must visit Mesagoza, Cascarrafa, and Levinica. Buying from all three locations will allow you to obtain a total of 18 tablecloths.
To get the 19th and final tablecloth, you must complete the Olive Roll challenge in Cortondo village in under two and a half minutes. Push the giant olive quickly and carefully through the course to obtain the last tablecloth.
After acquiring all 19 tablecloths, return to Kitakami and talk to the picnicker. In return, you will receive two sweet, two bitter, two salty, two sour, and two spicy Herba Mystica, totaling ten. This generous amount of Herba Mystica makes this task worth completing for enthusiastic Shiny hunters.
With the addition of many new Pokemon in Gen IX games through DLC, having an ample supply of Herba Mystica is very useful. Happy hunting!
