We have seen various strange ideas for portable computers, but this may be one of the most peculiar designs yet. It seems that Lenovo intends to use the MWC 2024 exhibition to introduce the world’s first laptop with a transparent display.
During the January CES 2024 trade show, LG caused quite a sensation by showcasing a transparent OLED television. If that device impressed you, then you may be pleased to hear that we might witness an explosion of the transparency trend. Later this month, at the MWC 2024 in Barcelona, Lenovo is set to present a portable computer with a relatively classic keyboard on one side and something completely futuristic on the other.
However, no details are known about the specifications of this model, except that it will run on the Windows 11 operating system. The upcoming model is expected to join the ThinkBook family (although it is not excluded that it may ultimately be part of another series). Technically, creating such a computer is entirely feasible, as demonstrated by the aforementioned LG television with a transparent display. The question remains whether such a solution makes sense for a portable computer.
During the same event, the manufacturer is also expected to showcase the hybrid device ThinkBook 14 G4 with a refreshed design, ThinkPads T14 (5th generation) with Intel and AMD processors, as well as the 16-inch model ThinkPad T16 (3rd generation), all featuring a “notch” design element.
We can be sure that the MWC 2024 trade show will unveil many technological innovations. We eagerly await the official presentation of Lenovo’s transparent laptop and look forward to the revolutions that future computer technology will bring us.
