Roblox, the mobile gaming sensation, continues to dominate the industry, making it one of the highest-grossing apps globally. While the exact numbers have been scrutinized, there is no denying that Roblox’s in-app purchase (IAP) revenue alone surpasses $4.2 billion.
The United States leads the pack as the biggest contributor to Roblox’s mobile revenue, accounting for an impressive 58% of the total. Following closely behind are the United Kingdom (7%), Canada (4%), South Korea (4%), and Australia (3%). These countries have enthusiastically embraced the immersive world of Roblox, propelling its financial success to new heights.
Considering its global reach, it’s not surprising that Roblox has amassed an astonishing 995 million downloads worldwide. The United States remains at the forefront in terms of installs, with a significant 20% share. Other countries making notable contributions include Brazil (12%), Mexico (6%), Indonesia (5.6%), and Russia (5.5%).
However, it’s important to note that these figures only account for revenue from in-app purchases, after deducting platform fees and taxes. Crucial sources of income such as licensing agreements, ad revenue, and royalties are not included. Therefore, it’s safe to assume that Roblox’s overall earnings, including PC and console platforms, are significantly higher.
In 2022, Roblox experienced a 13% decline in IAP revenue, amounting to approximately $800 million. However, the company’s annual report reveals that its total revenue across all platforms reached a staggering $2.2 billion, marking a significant 16% increase compared to the previous year.
As of this year, Roblox reigns as the top free-to-play mobile game worldwide, boasting an impressive 190 million downloads. It outshines other popular titles like Subway Surfers, Ludo King, Candy Crush Saga, and Royal Match. Furthermore, Roblox secures the fifth spot on the list of highest-grossing mobile games in 2023, with IAP revenue surpassing $753 million.
Roblox’s mobile version proves to be a goldmine, with a remarkable revenue per download (RpD) of $4.25 on a global scale. Hong Kong surpasses all other countries with an impressive RpD of $20.44, followed by Singapore ($19.5), Norway ($17.12), Switzerland ($16.84), and Denmark ($14.38).
These numbers paint a clear picture of Roblox’s enduring popularity and its ability to captivate players worldwide. With exponential growth and unwavering revenue, Roblox has become more than just a game; it is a cultural phenomenon that shows no signs of slowing down.
